Faith Racers

II Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Big Chill Update!

by Andre on Feb.02, 2010, under Racing

100_1490The Big Chill has lived up to its name this winter especially at the final showdown at MillCreek. The temps slipped down to the 20’s by the time the sun came up Sunday morning and finally became comfortable around noon time. The McWilliams crew decided to start pactice around ten to get the track in the best shape possible so that gave us more time to set up MX Church. We talked about Revelation 3 and Jesus’ desire for us to be either hot or cold, to be like healing hot water or refreshing cold water to the people God places in our lives. After our conversation, we talked about The Hands and Feet Project in Haiti and what great things they are doing. We gave everyone an opportunity to give to the children of Haiti and we raised nearly $100 and we at FRM decided to match it with another $100 totalling $200 for the children of Haiti. We were honored to help in anyway and hope to do so again!
Although the cold temps and previous rain held a few racers back, the racing was pretty intense most of the day. Check out a few pics we shot at MillCreek!

Disastrous quake in Haiti: do you want to help?

by Andre on Jan.17, 2010, under Events

I’m sure most of us are very moved and disturbed by what has happened in Haiti. Some are praying and some want to give but don’t know who to give to. If you are like me, it’s hard to trust some organizations who have let us down and have taken advantage of the American people’s compassion to help those in need. If you are not sure who to give to, World Vision is a trustworthy organization that we at Faith Racers give to at times and The Hunger Site is another. Go to www.worldvision.org or www.thehungersite.com to find out more about these organizations and how to give. Also, if you have another one in mind, go to www.charitynavigator.org to research charities, their missions, and their financial information to help you make the best decision in who to give to.

Just a thought.

by Andre on Jan.15, 2010, under MX Life Lessons

Greg Looney with FRM sent me this the other day….very thought provoking!

Some of you may already know, but I made a career change back in October. I am now employed by ThyssenKrupp Steel and we are building a $4.6 bil. state of the art steel mill here in Mobile. Last week we were informed that the CEO of ThyssenKrupp AG in Germany (the top of the food chain of about 29,000 employees) would be paying us a visit on Wednesday of this week. Well the preparations were on, I mean sweeping, cleaning and polishing has been the order of the day for a week now. Yesterday morning as we were making final preparations, I was cleaning some equipment and God spoke to me as strong as He has ever spoken. The question that has weighed heavily on me since then is…..If you are working this hard to prepare for the arrival of a ceo, how much preparation are you putting into My return?

New Faith Racers video!

by Andre on Jan.10, 2010, under Racing

Our young and talented Jeremy Fain produced a video for Faith Racers to show people just a little of what we do. We began this project a year ago at MillCreek, the last Big Chill race but ended quickly after damaging a borrowed movie camera. Ouch! We finally got a chance to finish it at one of the last CAM Series races at Noah’s. Thanks so much Jeremy….enjoy!

Update and pics from Big Cedar!

by Andre on Nov.16, 2009, under Racing

[SinglePic not found]The weekend started off right with a free BBQ dinner Saturday evening after the SE Quad race and the SCC Series practice day! We had just enough to feed about seventy people and the Faith Racers cook, Robert Holley had people wandering “what’s in the sauce!” After a long day of cooking and preparing for the dinner, we got up bright and early Sunday morning, and opened up the day with some MX Church. I spoke about how following God involves change and Robert Holley shared how God had blessed him and his family after making some drastic life changes.
Racing quickly followed with perfect conditions under a sunny blue sky. Alex McWilliams looked like he was in tune, but a few mechanical problems kept him from completing the job he came to do. Serratia Gonzalez showed up flying as usual and looked ready for the Mini O’s. Kevin Matthews was hammering down in the +50 class and looked right at home in the red clay.
We left feeling good about the weekend, but was sad that we had just witnessed the last Big Cedar race. Unfortunately, the track will be leveled and used for something else soon. I guess we must look at all the great memories this facility has brought to so many and appreciate the tracks we still get to enjoy! Checkout the pics from Big Cedar!

Update and pics from Noah’s MX!

by Andre on Nov.09, 2009, under Racing

100_1353 What a beautiful weekend of racing! We started off Sunday morning with some MX Church with Matt Ander, Chris Bowers, and Andre bringing a message of perseverence. Following church, we gave away some FRM t-shirts, FLY goggles, grips, and backpacks. The track was sweet as usual which brought some good racing to Maplesville, AL. Troy Miller dusted his bike off and was having some good racing with Tommy Halliburton. Auburn Stinson looked like he had it in cruise control as well as Faith Racers Chris Bowers. This was our last CAM Series race of the year, but look forward to next year! Check out some pics from Noah’s!

Pray for Roger!

by Andre on Nov.02, 2009, under Prayer Request

Our own Roger Ellison injured his back in August while at work and continues to struggle with pain. The doctors have performed many tests and are still trying to figure out the root of the problem. Roger was very active and struggles with his inability to get around and work. Roger has been a huge asset to his family, employer, the CAM Series, and to this ministry. Please pray for healing and wisdom for the doctors who are treating his condition.
