ABOUT FAITH RACERS MINISTRY
................................................................................................................

The mission of Faith Racers Ministry is to partner with God in helping people in the motocross community to initiate and continue their spiritual journey with God. Our message is simple: love God and love others.

It began in 2004 with a vision to share the love and heart of God through trackside church services in Alabama. This vision was born in the heart of Tony Jewah, founder of Faith Racers Ministry. As he stepped out in Faith to create Faith Racers, God began to prepare another to serve the motocross community. Andre Pene, former professional motocross racing athlete, was being led to race once again after being out of the sport for nearly seven years. Stepping out in Faith in 2004, he began to ride and race the local Alabama races where he once climbed the amateur ranks. Uncertain why he was called back into motocross, God began to reveal His reasons in the winter of 2005. God placed in Andre's heart a passion to share the freedom of having a personal relationship with God to motocross riders like himself. He first began by riding for two Christian motocross teams called Panicrev and FCA MX Alabama. Soon after, Tony and Andre met at a Fellowship of Christian Athlete's motocross team meeting in early 2006. The two of them happened to sit by one another and the rest is history! Andre's passion became a reality when he started helping Tony teach at the trackside services around Alabama.

Tony handed over the ministry after much time in prayer to Andre in late 2006 to continue with it‘s mission. Effective December 2006, Faith Racers Ministry continues as a non-profit 501(c) under the direction of Andre.

Faith Racers prayer is that God will use this ministry to set people free from any barriers that limit them from experiencing and knowing God through His son Jesus.

ANDRE'S STORY
................................................................................................................

Andre is a former professional motocross racing athlete who competed as a privateer from 1994-1997. His best finish was 8th place in the 125 main at the Charlotte Supercross in 1995. Later that year, he finished 13th overall in the 125 East Coast Supercross Series and had a top 20 outdoor national finish before injuring his knee. Although Andre was competing at the elite level in the sport of motocross, he felt a void in his life. He decided to give his life to God through His son Jesus at the end of the 1995 outdoor national season.

Andre began to grow in his relationship with God and wanted to use his talents for Him. After praying and feeling led to race, he decided to use his talents for someone other than himself, God. Unfortunately, being a newborn Christian without a support system, Andre began to fall back into the lifestyle he once lived. After two more years of injuries and many other obstacles, Andre decided to move on to another career. He graduated college in 1999 with a degree of Associate of Science in Physical Therapy Assistant. It was during this time that Andre refocused on God and their relationship without the pressures of professional motocross. He began to serve others and developed a deep compassion for all people.

After several years, Andre began to wonder how he could combine his passion of motocross with his love for God. Soon after, God began to move in Andre's heart to share his lifelong experiences as a motocross rider to the motocross community. God opened the door for Andre to serve through the ministry of Faith Racers.

Andre and his family travel to races around the southeast and hold trackside services for all people. Everyone is welcome regardless of belief's or denomination. He also speaks at various Fellowship of Christian Athlete's (FCA) motocross camps to our youth and hosts motocross retreats to build stonger relationships with the motocross community.

Along with leading Faith Racers Ministry, Andre continues to work as a Physical Therapy Assistant with homebound individuals through a home health agency in Alabama.

Married to his wife Mary since 2001, they have two kids: Carmen and Cannon. They currently reside in Montgomery, AL.
