WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe that God inspired the words of the Bible through people of the past, and desires to teach us from it's history. God calls us to saturate our lives in His word and live out what He teaches by faith.

We were created by God to bear His image and to be in perfect harmony with Him. We became disconnected from Him when sin entered the world. The image of God was distorted in man and man began to live separated from the perfect relationship it was designed to have with our creator.

The story continues as God did not abandon us, but attempts to restore us. He begins working in the lives of those who put all their faith and trust in Him. He chose the people of Israel, descendents of Abraham, to represent Him in this world. He promised to make them into a great nation, but soon became enslaved by the Egyptians. The Israelites cried out to God and He led them out of slavery in attempts to set His people free. Even among God's presence, the people grumbled and complained. The story continues to unfold with God's passion to live among His people and forgive them for their unfaithfulness.

They finally entered the long awaited promised land to be a nation who represented and lived with God. It was a continuous cycle of worshipping God, to worshipping idols, to hardship, and finally to crying out once again for freedom. Soon, Israel became indifferent and numb to what God wanted to do through them and was later sent into exile.

We believe God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to restore this lost relationship with all people who accept him. Jesus, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and died on the cross for us. His death forgives us from our sin, it sets us free from this fallen world, and allows us to have a relationship with God. Jesus was raised from the dead, ascended into heaven to be with His Father, and is now the only mediator between God and us. For those who believe in Him receive the Holy Spirit who guides us into all truth and enables us to live a life God created us to be. As a result, those who follow Christ become heirs and ambassadors of God to be a light wherever they are. Their bodies become the dwelling place of God and they become a new creation in Christ.

We believe that Jesus will return someday for those who know him and will carry them away to a new place to dwell with God forever.
